Change of Plans...

Sooooo, things rarely ever work out the way you want them to, right? That would be the case for us over the last few days.... Turkey Butt has had a cough that started on Wednesday and has progressively gotten worse....throw in a little fever and there you have it! We originally planned to leave for Glen Rose yesterday,and tried to convince the sick one to wait a day and let him get some rest and hopefully feel better....Yeah, right! He was insistent on leaving yesterday, so we did. Needless to say, by the time we made it Granbury, TB was now whiny and coughing and fevery....ugh...We went to dinner and went back to the hotel...poor guy coughed the ENTIRE night! I felt sooo bad for him. I called the Pedi's office this morning and they wanted to see him or make sure that he was seen somewhere in case he needed a chest x-ray. We made the choice to head back to town to see the doctor...turns out it's probably strep...I guess that's good, I was thinking flu for a little bit! Anyway, my poor child is convinced that he's ruined our vacation. We've done our best to convince him that's not the case...it wasn't actually a 'vacation' and we are planning to go back in the next few weeks and make a weekend of it...oh well....maybe we'll get to sleep in tomorrow since no one got any sleep last night....great way to end spring break, right??

Ode to Spring Break

Oh, how I love Spring Break! It's the bright point in those loooong days between January and the middle of March! We have lots of fun things planned for this break.....good times to be had for everyone!
We started our break on Saturday, Nana and Danny came to visit and we headed to the Dallas Museum of Art to see the King Tut exhibit. All I can say is, AMAZING! The fact that the items in the exhibit were over 3,000 years old made me have goosebumps. MANY of the items were recovered from Tut's tomb as well....I was awestruck! If you are thinking about going, let me know. I found a pretty good deal on tickets!
Wednesday night, we'll be heading back downtown to the American Airlines Center to see Disney on Ice. I am really hoping that both my kids will enjoy the show. I know I will!
Thursday morning, we're gonna head over to Glen Rose to see Dinosaur Valley State Park and Dinosaur World. We're also hoping to make it over to Fossil Rim to see the animals there. Friday night, we are planning on staying in Fort Worth and heading to the zoo on Saturday. Good times, huh?

OK, sometimes I fall into that whole pity party for myself rut, I'm just as guilty as the next person. A few weeks ago, I found this site. NOT kid friendly and some may find it offensive. Me? I find it funny and think how things could always be worse.
